You've booked, now what?

So you’ve booked your first boudoir shoot (or maybe you’re thinking about it), and your mind is racing:

“What do I wear?”

“Will I feel awkward?”

“Am I even confident enough for this?”

If you’ve asked yourself any of those questions—you’re not alone. At Glow & Tell, most of our clients are stepping in front of the camera for the first time, and many arrive feeling nervous or unsure.

Here’s the truth: you don’t need to be confident to book a boudoir session—you build confidence through the experience.

We’ve created this guide to help you feel more prepared (and excited!) for what’s to come.

Rain room boudoir photography focused on empowerment, body confidence, and natural beauty, celebrating real bodies with minimal retouching a

Before the Session: Let’s Talk Prep

1. We’ll Chat First

Whether through email, phone, or a quick message, we’ll connect before your session to go reassure you, during your hair and makeup we will go over the vibe you're after, any concerns you have, and what kind of looks or themes you’re drawn to. This is all about you, so nothing is cookie-cutter.

2. What to Bring

Think of your outfit choices like a menu—mix it up with a few options. Clients often bring:

  • Lingerie sets (classic black, fun colours, or something sentimental)
  • An oversized shirt, denim jacket, or cosy knit (for that effortlessly sexy vibe)
  • Bodysuits,
  • Accessories like stockings, heels, or statement jewellery

Don’t have “boudoir” clothes? No worries. Confidence > clothes. We’ll work with what you have—and you don’t have to wear anything you’re not comfortable in.

During the Session: The Magic Happens

This is where it all starts to click. You’ll arrive at our inclusive, body-positive studio in Mt Gambier, and we’ll take things at your pace.

Here’s how it typically flows:

  • Hair & Makeup (if included) – You’ll get pampered by a professional who’s there to make you feel like you, not a stranger in glam.
  • Warm-up time – We ease into the session slowly, so you never feel rushed or thrown into the deep end.

  • Posing support – You don’t need to know how to pose! I’ll guide you through each look, help with angles, and cheer you on like your personal hype squad.
  • Vibes & fun – We’ll play music, laugh, and keep it light. Think less “photo shoot pressure” and more “self-love celebration.”

By the time we wrap up, most clients say they don’t want it to end.

After the Session: The Glow Up

You’ll walk away feeling empowered, buzzing with energy, and maybe even seeing yourself in a whole new light.

Within a couple of weeks, you’ll receive a beautiful, professionally edited gallery (typically around 80 images) where your glow speaks for itself.

You’ll be able to:

  • Download your all your images
  • Make a favourites album inside your gallery to share with me your faves so I can share on socials (only if you chose, absolutely no pressure)
  • Order Polaroids (optional)
  • Relive your power moment again and again
